Charge Time To 100w Solar Power To Lithium ion Battery

Suppose a 100W solar panel charges 12V and 48V, 100Ah and 400Ah lithium-ion batteries:

The battery capacity needs to be converted from Ah to Wh by multiplying the Ah by the battery voltage (V). Efficiency is generally considered to be between 75% and 85%, here we can use 80% as a conservative estimate.

For 12V 100Ah and 400Ah Li-ion batteries:

Battery capacity conversion: for a 12V battery, the capacity of 100Ah is equal to 1200Wh (12V * 100Ah) and the capacity of 400Ah is equal to 4800Wh (12V * 400Ah).

For 100Ah batteries: Charging time = 1200Wh/(100W * 0.8)= 15Hours.

For 48V 100Ah and 400Ah lithium-ion batteries:

Battery capacity conversion: for 48V batteries, the capacity of 100Ah is equal to 4800Wh (48V * 100Ah) and the capacity of 400Ah is equal to 19200Wh (48V * 400Ah).

For 100Ah batteries: Charging time = 4800Wh/(100W * 0.8) = 60Hours.

For 400Ah batteries: Charging time = 19200Wh/(100W * 0.8) = 240Hours.
